Intermediate and Advanced Drivers: To prevent delay in getting out on track for your first session, please complete this tech sheet PRIOR to arrival at the event. Tech for intermediate and advanced groups at a PDX event with the SCCA is a "rolling self tech". What that means is that you do your own tech for your own car and we eyeball it for any glaring maintenance issues and to be sure it meets safety requirements. Individual car inspections are not done unless the Chief of Tech feels there is a need based on his judgment. Your signed sheet (by you or a mechanic of your choice) IS your tech. Please be certain your car is 'track ready' prior to presenting to rolling tech.

Novice Drivers: We're here to help. We will help you get your car 'track ready' by helping you with clearing out the car, checking your lugs and tires, etc. We won't be repairing anything for you, so don't bring a busted ride. When you arrive at the track find somewhere to park along the paved road then head over to registration and get checked in. After you’ve checked in with Registration, get your car and drive over to the tech area. We'll take you through the tech process and get you ready to go. Print a tech sheet now and go over it--your car must meet the safety requirements before it makes a lap of the track. ARRIVE EARLY!! You’ll need to get through registration and tech before 8:00 AM to make the morning driver’s meeting. Personally, I’d be so stoked I’d never oversleep--but, if that’s not you please, for the love of race gas, set every alarm you own and plan to get to the track by 7:00 am when the gates open.

CONVERTIBLES WITHOUT ROLL OVER PROTECTION WILL NOT PASS TECH!!!!! A factory hard top may be considered roll over protection for vehicles 2006 or newer. A 'style bar' or other non-braced roll bar is not acceptable. You must pass the 'broom stick' test while belted in with your helmet on if you have an aftermarket harness installed in your convertible. If you are too tall, use your 3 point factory belts (this is a safety thing....and, we'll explain the physics of it to you). We think you're head is pretty important, and we don't plan to let you use it as a skid plate. If you have questions, contact the Chief of Tech, Joel Harlaman

Helmets: Please see the PDX rules for a complete list of accepted helmets. We will NOT have loaner helmets at this event. Helmets will be teched with your car at the tech shed (Garage Bay 3). NOVICE: Need a helmet? Stumped on what exactly you need? Contact the Tech Chief and he’ll help you out.

Here’s an outline of the day (subject to change if circumstances dictate)

Check-In opens at 7:15 AM (TBD). Bring your state issued driver's license, and your SCCA member card (if you are a member). You will receive your driver’s packet, credentials, track info, etc at check-in.
TECH 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM (TBD): Follow the signage for drive-through tech (Intermediate and Advanced) or Novice tech. Drive-through tech: don’t be ‘that guy’ holding up the show. Please have your car 100% track ready before you present to tech.
The mandatory driver's meeting will be held at 08:30 AM in the garage. Yes, this includes you. Don't worry, it's quick....get a head start and read it here:
NOVICE drivers: We understand-if you’ve never been to the track, how the heck will you know what we’re talking about in a driver’s meeting?? Fear not! During the mandatory driver’s meeting, we’ll hook you up with your instructor. Then, it’s off to school!
Advanced drivers will take the track immediately following the driver's meeting. We plan to have you out turning laps by 0900 AM.
Intermediate drivers: you’ll hit the track after the advanced group. Plan for your first session to begin around 0920 AM.

Weather. This event will run RAIN OR SHINE! Please plan accordingly (and if you've never done it, racing is the rain is better than sex!)
